In 1979 Daniel started his career in Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics at Charing Cross Hospital where his initial clinical experience was in renal transplantation. In 1984 he moved to The Royal London Hospital where he worked for over 3 decades becoming the Deputy Director of the Clinical Transplantation Laboratory. He has extensive clinical experience and a specialist in providing clinical Histocompatibility services and advice to renal, cardio- thoracic and paediatric/ adult Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant programmes including cord blood transplantation. He has been involved in several International Histocompatibility Workshops having a particular interest in the population genetics and has numerous population genetics/ transplantation publications.
Dr. McCloskey was CEO and co-founder of the UK medical NGO, Africa Medical Partnership Fund working for over 10 years on various medical projects in Africa.
